Why isn't an item showing available to order through my local branch?

If you want an item to be backordered through your local branch, you can simply request it directly at that branch. Alternatively, you can choose to order from an alternate warehouse. For future purchases, if you prefer buying from your local warehouse, you can reach out to your local branch and ask them to set up the item there.
